H.1908: Certificates of Rehabilitation

Also known as An Act providing certificates of rehabilitation, second chances, increased success, and community prosperity, this bill aims to help those with prior convictions with finding employment and housing, and to obtain professional licensure when returning to their communities.

...of previously incarcerated Black women remain unemployed in the first 2 years after their release. Over 35% of black men also face the same challenge within the first 2 years of release.

...rates of homelessness are experienced by those who were formerly involved in the justice system, compared with individuals who have not been incarcerated.

On Dec. 14, I testified in favor of H.1908. Better known as the Certificates of Rehabilitation Bill, I stand with everyone with prior convictions and support making resources available to help them find employment and housing, and to obtain professional licensure when returning to their communities.
