How can I get vaccinated in Malden?

Eligibility
Everyone 5 years of age and older is now eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccination. Everyone ages 12 and older is eligible for a booster shot. Vaccine clinics are FREE and open to anyone who works or lives in Malden. Any additional questions about eligibility,  call the Malden Health Department at (781) 397-7049.

Malden YMCA (https://mv-ymca.org/)is also hosting FREE vaccine clinics every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome and no appointments or health insurance is needed. They are offering Moderna, Pfizer, J&J shots for all adults and eligible children. First, Second and Booster shots are all available. In-Home Vaccinations
Anyone who self-reports as mobility limited can request an in-home vaccination. What are the current regulations around masks and face coverings in Malden?

Masks and face coverings are still required on all public and private transportation including on the MBTA, commuter rail, buses, ferries, and airplanes, and while in rideshares (Uber and Lyft), and taxis, as required by the CDC. Face coverings are also required at all times inside transportation hubs, including train stations, bus stops, and airports. Individuals waiting outside at transportation hubs no longer need to wear a mask. The requirement applies to riders and workers.

Other locations where masks are required include all Healthcare facilities and practices, congregate care facilities such as assisted living residences, group homes, residential treatment programs, emergency shelter programs, prisons, jails, and other correctional facilities. Effective March 1, 2022, the CDC is no longer requiring that masks be worn on school buses or vans for K-12 and child care programs and public outdoors at transportation settings. Please check with your local school district on specific requirements.

As of Monday, February 28th, 2022, Mayor Gary Christenson and Director of the Malden Board of Health has removed the mask mandate for all municipal buildings. This applies to all employees and visitors in Malden City Hall, Police and Fire Stations, the Department of Public Works, the Malden Public Library, Senior Center, Teen Center and Parking Department.

As of Tuesday, February 15, 2022, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health announced that fully vaccinated, high-risk individuals and those who are NOT fully vaccinated should continue to wear masks indoors to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
